Musician of the Week! Way to Go!

Making our BUCKETS!

The middle school leadership class joins our class every Tuesday afternoon and talks to us about the importance of "filling buckets" - being a good person, being nice, making good choices, and being helpful.

SQUIRRELS! Thank you Kayleen Boltz for bringing in your pet squirrels. Our class loved them!

It's a Chemical Reaction!

One of our last experiments as we wrap up our Matter Unit, we predicted and observed what would happen when we dropped an Alka-Seltzer tablet (solid) in warm water (liquid). As a result, the second and third graders learned a new vocabulary word = Carbon Dioxide!

Pepita Talks Twice

This is the title of one of the third grade stories we read in class. It is about a little girl who is bilingual in English and Spanish. I invited Adela Penaloza as a guest reader to read the Spanish parts of the story. The students LOVED hearing the difference between her reading the Spanish parts versus the way I read them. One student said, "No offense teacher, but she does a much better job!" Lol :)

COVE PLAY DAY - Field trip

Wow! What a wonderful day! Super sorry I missed the second grade field trip :( You can check the other second grade classroom blog for pictures. Our third graders tried hard, participated with 100% effort, but most importantly had fun! Already looking forward to next year :)

Making paper with Melissa Jackman

A fun, hands-on activity where students make paper. My original plan for this paper was for a Mother's Day card (until I got so sick from strep throat and missed nearly a week of school). Kids had a wonderful time with this project!
