Pepita Talks Twice

This is the title of one of the third grade stories we read in class. It is about a little girl who is bilingual in English and Spanish. I invited Adela Penaloza as a guest reader to read the Spanish parts of the story. The students LOVED hearing the difference between her reading the Spanish parts versus the way I read them. One student said, "No offense teacher, but she does a much better job!" Lol :)

COVE PLAY DAY - Field trip

Wow! What a wonderful day! Super sorry I missed the second grade field trip :( You can check the other second grade classroom blog for pictures. Our third graders tried hard, participated with 100% effort, but most importantly had fun! Already looking forward to next year :)

Making paper with Melissa Jackman

A fun, hands-on activity where students make paper. My original plan for this paper was for a Mother's Day card (until I got so sick from strep throat and missed nearly a week of school). Kids had a wonderful time with this project!

The Community Garden

We walked over to the community garden to check out our garden plot. Hopefully this week we will be able to walk to the hardware store to purchase seeds to plant. Students met with Lion Club Members and enjoyed some delicious ice cream! Fun afternoon!
